Empowering Therapy Services at The Birches at New Hope
Stronger Living for 100% of Our Residents
Through a regular exercise regimen and a focus on wellness, Fox Therapy’s Stronger Living Program improves strength, mobility, and balance, leading to fewer falls, fewer hospitalizations, and a healthier lifestyle.
Led by a full-time exercise physiologist, the program offers 20+ exercise classes per week! Cardiovascular exercise, balance training, as well as functional assessments, memory care wellness programming, and monthly professional presentations for both residents and families are all part of the Stronger Living Program that is available to every resident.
Our goal is to help all residents live stronger, longer lives—enjoying the community, their family, and friends with as much comfort and independence as possible.
Improved Functional Wellness
Stronger Living is much more than a circuit of gentle exercises a few times a week. This program provides real results for residents. Fox Therapy reports:
- 24% improvement in balance
- 26% increase in lower body strength
- 21% increase in gait speed over 12 months of program exposure
- 33% fewer falls
- 38% fewer hospital admissions
It all starts with exercises that build on each resident’s strengths, and clinicians support their abilities to reach a level where they feel they can do more.
Unlike Any Senior Living Therapy Services Out There
FOX Therapy works the body, encourages the spirit, and honors the person. Their tools are clinical expertise, passion, empathy, engagement, responsiveness, listening, and laughter. They believe people must heal completely, in their own time, to achieve lasting health improvements.
FOX clinicians are experienced in helping treat impairments relating to almost any ailment or diagnosis common in older adults, including:
- Cardiac
- Neurologic
- Orthopedic
- Pulmonary
- Oncologic
The good news is that many older adults can significantly improve their functional status. Additionally, FOX Therapy is part of our Daybreak memory care neighborhood because staying active and strong matters at every stage of life.
Putting Exercise Physiology to the Test
FOX exercise physiologists are dedicated to helping residents feel their best. They start with a series of safe, guided exercise tests to get a clear picture of overall health, especially how well the heart and metabolism are working. From there, they create a personalized exercise plan designed to build strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance.
These programs are especially helpful for those managing heart disease, diabetes, lung conditions, poor circulation, or high blood pressure. The goal is to help individuals regain their health and feel more like themselves again. Best of all, these senior living therapy services can be provided one-on-one in the comfort of one’s own apartment, or in a group setting within the community.
Exercise physiology addresses:
- Endurance
- Strength
- Fitness
- Flexibility
- Balance

Residents are Living Better, Longer
